Ang Dorjee Sherpa

Ang Dorjee Sherpa, grew up amongst Himalayan climbers. His father Nima Tenzing Sherpa climbed with British mountaineer Chris Bonington in the 1970s and 80s. At age 12, Ang Dorjee followed in his father’s footsteps, beginning as a porter. Ang Dorjee has moved on to achieve 22 summits of Everest and 27 ascents of 8,000m peaks!

Born in 1970 in Pangboche, Nepal, Ang Dorjee Sherpa, grew up amongst Himalayan climbers. His father Nima Tenzing Sherpa climbed with British mountaineer Chris Bonington in the 1970s and 80s. At age 12, Ang Dorjee followed in his father’s footsteps, beginning as a porter.

With assistance from Western clients impressed by his work ethic, Ang Dorjee attended private school in Nepal while continuing his mountaineering work with several expeditions in the Everest region.

In 2002, Ang Dorjee immigrated to the United States where he now lives and when he is not leading clients in the Himalayas, he has worked as a wind turbine mechanic on the wind farms near his Idaho home.

Summiting Everest initially with Adventure Consultants in 1992, Ang Dorjee has moved on to achieve 22 summits of Everest and 27 ascents of 8,000m peaks! His skills as a climber are legendary. Frequently we consult his mountain acumen to ensure the smooth operation of an expedition.
